Barker Shoes finalists have been recognised for the importance of developing their already successful e-commerce website in order to improve user experience and customer engagement.
Working Visual Identity, and due to the increase in mobile/tablet traffic, it was vital to create an experience that worked flawlessly on all devices and platforms so that Barker customers could shop effortlessly however they wished.
Shoes are more complicated than other fashion products, particularly when selling online. The website development includes the ability to search and display size and colour but also width, fit, construction, last shape, sole shape, material, and design other features such as categorising shoes by collection and gender.
Shopify is a great platform, but for an established shoe retailer such as Barker, out-of-the-box solutions would not work. The development has successfully avoided ‘shoehorned solutions’ and, as a result, the final website has much bespoke development to ensure it offers improved functionality and the best features of the original Magento solution.
